Dorte Futtrup - Danish storyteller
Why do we tell stories?
In the first place we want to get an overview of our own
personal world. By telling stories we are able to draw the different
fragments of our lives together, thus creating cohesion, meaning and a
sense of belonging.
Storytellers are the bearers of a people’s cultural
heritage, who by telling stories expand and add to this heritage, thus
creating for the listeners a deep-felt understanding of their own lives.

What kind of stories does she tell?
Her repertoire includes:
- Myths, legends and tales from Denmark, Faroe Islands,
Greenland and the other Nordic countries;

Lagerlöf, Jan
Kjærstad, John Steinbeck, A.S. Byatt, Michael Ende and other
writers;
- "Viva la Vida" - a story about Frida Kahlo
- Composer of her own stories
